A weekend of racing includes much more than the smell of burning rubber, the roar of the engines and meeting your favorite drivers. It’s about endless hours of fun, camping with fellow race fans and making new friends. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran with a rear window full of race track stickers or just out for the first time … Merrittville Speedway offers a perfect chance to get away from it all and enjoy a weekend at the race track with two big nights of action in store to celebrate the Civic Holiday.
As a warm-up to the Thorold track’s signature event – enjoy a Saturday Night as well – a 5 Division Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series event features the Rick’s Delivery Sportsman in Round 2 of the King of the Crates Series – a 40 lap Event powered by David Chevrolet, Bobcat of Hamilton 358 Modifieds, J&S Heating and Air Conditioning Modified Lites, Hoosier Stocks and the Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinders presented by Tim Hortons … Saturday August 3rd. “When you pull in,” relates (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell-Jones, “you may only know the people that you came with … but when you head for home – you’ll have made friends with everyone around you … and as you attend more and more races – you’ll see many of your friends at other events.” If you don’t have a Camper then you may wish to experience camping the real way – by sleeping under the stars – that would be an experience you’d always remember.
Regardless if you aren’t a camper you can still enjoy the atmosphere by getting to the track early and put out the lawn chairs, sit back and enjoy some pre-race tailgating.
