With the first real sign of winter greeting Merrittville Speedway Race Fans and Teams – officials at the Thorold facility are pleased to announce the return of key partners for 2014. “
Just prior to our Awards Banquet we were thrilled to announce the return of Lucas Oil,” said (Merrittville Speedway GM) Erica Bicknell-Jones, “during the banquet … we were excited to reveal that Rick’s Delivery and J&S Heating and Air Conditioning were in once again as Division Sponsors … with those announcements … the news has been snow-balling with others rejoining.”
With the Annual Spring Sizzler and the Patriot Sprint Tour a quick 5 months away and counting down … Blast Entertainment will once again help launch the 2014 Championship Chase in their unique style Saturday May 3rd with season long support of Brian’s Tire Repair closing out the 63rd Season Points Battles Saturday August 30th.
“Both Brians … Brian Pugh of Blast Entertainment and Brian Sim of Brian’s Tire Repair are extremely passionate about their racing,” added Bicknell-Jones, “like all of us – they have to be anticipating what the coming season will bring - you couldn’t have asked for more in 2013 with several of our points championships not decided until the final laps.”
With the season-long points battles ahead of them, drivers in the Rick’s Delivery Sportsman Division can once again look forward to the David Chevrolet King of the Crates Series taking the spotlight in three events in 2014 as will the Turn 4 Collision Triple Crown Series for the 4 Cylinders.
“Race fans and teams alike who may now planning their New Year’s Resolutions can stay the course until the end of June,” relayed Bicknell-Jones, “Pillers will once again help us present our famous $1 Hot Dog Night that will also feature the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints.”
Since 1972, one event on everyone’s racing schedule is the Civic Holiday Monday in August and for the 5th straight year – L. St. Amand Enterprises and St. Amand Auto and Truck Repair will present the Bob St. Amand Sr. Memorial Monday August 4th that will feature the 100 lap Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series Main Event.
“2013 saw our Tuesday Night Lucas Oil Weekly Karting Series celebrate 20 consecutive seasons,” said Bicknell-Jones,” three of our longtime Kart supporters - KC Auto Parts, Tim Phillips Garage and Superior PetroFuels are set to join us once again.”
Merrittville Speedway enjoys wide support from all levels of the Niagara business community. Marketing partners ServiceMaster, Stadelmeier Septic Service, Gallagher’s Farm Market and Girdlestone Brokerage are among those that have renewed their contracts for 2014.
