Mother Nature Gets Second in a Row at Merrittville

By Steven Petty...........THOROLD, ONTARIO (April 27, 2019)… For the second straight week, Mother Nature was the deciding factor into whether or not the gates would swing open for the first time in 2019 at Merrittville Speedway.

“Due to the unseasonably cold weather, high winds, and wet grounds, we were forced to cancel tonight’s racing program”, commented Merrittville Speedway’s Don Spiece. Merrittville Speedway management would like to thank all of the drivers, sponsors, families, crews, and fans for all of their support.

Next week’s program will officially kick off the 68th season of racing at Merrittville. The first 300 kids through the gates will receive goodie bags and checkered flags.

Next Saturday night, Peters Excavating presents the Bobcat of Hamilton Weekly Racing Series program featuring the Hoosier Stocks home race number one for the Insta Panels Duel on the Dirt. Pit gates will open at 5 pm with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm and the first green flag of the season will fall at 7 pm.
