










Pete Reid earned a big win in Ball Hockey International Night at Merrittville Saturday May 18th in the Hoosier Stock Division. It was an emotional scene in Victory Lane after the death of his father this past Thursday.
Merrittville Speedway will close it’s first doubleheader of 2013 when the Zavitz Financial Strategies and ZFS Employee Benefit Solutions Monday May 20th event features the 358 Modified Super DIRTcar Series. “We’re expecting quite a field to challenge our Bobcat of Hamilton 358 Modifieds,” relates Merrittville GM Erica Bicknell-Jones, “… any of our Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Drivers have a shot at Victory Lane … but for the last three seasons … the driver celebrating after 100 laps has been Sussex New Jersey’s Brett Hearn.”

On May 18th - Ball Hockey International will present the 5 Division Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Program – the first of two events celebrating the Victoria Day long weekend with action returning Monday May 20th
Race Fans that braved the unseasonably cold temperatures were treated to a night of hot on track action that in some cases led to overheated tempers. Third generation driver Erick Rudolph and Kevin Knapp scored their first 2013 wins in Lococo’s Wholesale Night at Merrittville Saturday May 11th in the Bobcat of Hamilton 358 Modified and Hoosier Stock Divisions respectively. Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series action also saw three drivers make their second straight visits to Victory Lane – Kyle Pelrine, Josh Sliter and Brad Rouse in the Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinder, J&S Heating and Air Conditioning Modified Lites and the Rick’s Delivery Sportsman Features.

A wholesale night of excitement kicks off a season of fun May 11th when Merrittville Speedway when Lococo’s Wholesale presents the second 5 Division Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Event of the season on Grantham Lions Kids Club Registration Night. “Since the announcement of our new partnership with the Grantham Lions Club,” informs (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell-Jones, “some parents have already registered their children … during the mall shows … here at the Office and even on line … but this Saturday Night is the official night to sign up.”

When Blast Entertainment and B&C Truck Centre combine to launch Merrittville Speedway’s 2013 Championship Chase on Saturday May 4th – not only will the Event kick off the 62nd Season … it will kick off the 2nd season of the B&C Truck Centre Mack Canada Driver of the Week Program.

Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series action saw Steve Poirer top the touring Patriot Sprint Tour’s Canadian Series Opener. Chad Brachmann stole the Bobcat of Hamilton 358 Modified 35 lap Main Event with a last second move and BJ Willard bested the field in the Rick’s Delivery Sportsman Division.

In just 2 days, Merrittville Speedway will open with Practice Day for all 5 Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Divisions. The Saturday April 20th Event may be one of the most important practices with two divisions in big events right off the start – the following week.
